To create this image, I blended a picture of lightning with one of a plane soaring in the sky. I used a grain filter for both, so it would look seamless when put together. I also played around with the saturation, vibrance and color balance. Finally, I made one of the imaged 50% visible and the other 100% and used the dark blending mode.
